Not Insane 2016-06-16: Mandela Effect
2016/06/17
Our Masked Podcasters take on an entire multiverse when they confront the Mandela Effect, MP2 encoders, and WELCOME DATACOMP. Just by posting this episode they are now one of the most long-lived podcasts in Internet history!
On Hiatus-- but watch this space
2008/07/03
The Masked Podcasters have put aside the Not Insane Podcast for the time being. However, this is no mere podfade. We are instead focusing our energies on a new, more powerful podcast to be announced shortly. Shortly-ish. Whenever we get to it.
Not Insane 2008-04-21: Skeksi Voices
2008/05/02
Info (Show/Hide)
For security reasons, the Masked Podcasters have long shrouded their very voices in a protective cloud of static cunningly disguised as restaurant background noise. In an unprecedented display of personal daring, our Cogent Compadres boldly step through this haze and proudly issue their collective barbaric yawps over the rooftops of the world. Whatever the heck they mean by that.
So now, you (the audience... if that is your REAL name) can bask in their unvarnished brilliance (because brilliance is so much better before the varnish goes on) of the Masked Podcasters' transcendental sanity as they discuss Markov chains, Apple II computers (a-gain-- but this time in new excruciating detail!), the Monty Hall problem, whether or not there's a special place in hell for audio engineers (there is), and whether or not parenthetical interjections make everything better (they do, but actually we don't discuss that on the podcast).
Oldthinkers unbellyfeel.
Not Insane 2008-03-20: Waste Land
2008/03/31
Info (Show/Hide)
In this episode, Masked Podcaster 2 starts to talk about Wasteland, and doesn't stop. I'm terribly sorry. The story involves... receipts. I don't want to think about it.
As brief, merciful respites in the onslaught of horror, we digress onto increasingly bizarre topics, including the Chronic Argonauts (again) and whether or not Harlan Ellison would play shuffleboard with Hitler in an alternate universe.
This entire summary is starting to sound like a Mad Lib.
At no point are the Superfriends or Dr. Who mentioned, but Thundarr the Barbarian makes a brief appearance.

2008/03/10
Info (Show/Hide)
In this exciting episode of the Not Insane Podcast, our Down-To-Earth Duo visit a mysterious island populated by barbarians, princesses, and furry humanoids. There, they form an advertising agency dedicated to driving the world mad, but are stopped by even more mysterious superheroes. At least, that was the dream I had after I fell asleep listening to this episode. Please tell me that the dancing chimpanzees were real. Enjoy.
Not Insane 21: Jason and the Chronic Argonauts
2007/12/21
In this exciting episode, MP2 promises to tell us of the adventures of the Chronic Argonauts, then utterly fails to do so. Then they chatter about Season 1 of Lost. Will MP1 go on another skeptical rant? There's only one way to find out!
Well, a bunch of ways, actually. You could just write and ask us. We don't mind.
Not Insane 17: Go Apocalypse Go!
2007/12/01
On today's episode, our Superb Sanity-Synonyms consider that happiest of all topics, the End of the World. Which apocalypse is apocalypsiest? And how is Dr. Who involved? They also talk about the Superfriends, unless I cut that part out. I forget.
Not Insane 20: Trick or Treat
2007/11/13
Our special Halloween show, broadcast in costume!
Not Insane 14: Unplugged
2007/10/27
By popular demand (ok, by demand of Masked Podcaster 2), we're releasing this episode in its horrifying original form.
Best Podcast Ever
2007/09/02
Due to unanticipated technical brilliance, our last podcast entry was an avant-garde masterpiece in the spirit of John Cage's "4:33". However, since the human race is not yet ready for the sheer genius of our oevre, we will be supplementing it with a podcast of a similar title and the same length, but with far inferior content. Enjoy... shortly.
Not Insane 13: Roswellapalooza (repost)
2007/09/01
For those who insist on the degrading mundanities of actual content, here is another version of "Roswellapalooza", this time featuring 100% more agony. Enjoy.
Not Insane 10: C is for Cthulhu
2007/07/11
The Masked Podcasters face monsters from the cookie-eating to the world-vanquishing. They brave the forest primeval to match wits with Bigfoot. They battle mysterious aliens from outer space. They pretend to read the Silmarillion. The phrase "bionic soul" is spoken, which should tell you all you need to know.

Not Insane 9: Superfiends
2007/06/23
This week, our lions of lucidity enlist the aid of the Superfriends, the Scooby Gang, and Doctor Who against evil French versions of the Borg and CON!!!! Now featuring 30% less pain.

Not Insane 8: In Search Of
2007/06/16
Info (Show/Hide)
Psychic phenomena. Sylvia Browne. The Time Cube. Biorhythms. The Kennedy assassination. Criswell. This is Masked Podcaster One, inviting you to join us as we go in search of... the Not Insane Podcast. This podcast presents information based in no part on theory and conjecture. The podcasters' purpose is to suggest not some possible explanation, but necessarily the only one, to the mysteries we will examine.
Not Insane 7: Fembots in the Future
2007/06/09
Info (Show/Hide)
This week our hosts, famous for the perfection of their sanity and the mysteriousness of their masks, are ambushed by elite shock troops from the future. Our compos mentis co-hosts strike back with chanting and world-rending recursive logic. Somehow or other, fembots are involved.
By the way, if you want to contact the masked podcasters, and/or have your email read on our show, contact us at notinsanepodcast@gmail.com.
Not Insane 6: Attack of Z Machines
2007/05/10
Info (Show/Hide)
In this episode, our completely sane masked podcasters desperately try to avoid discussing the mysterious Z-Machines. They gabble frantically about serotonin, perfectionism, homebrew adventure games, and murderous alien nymphomania. They uncover terrifying connections and a sinister conspiracy that will shake the foundations of your very soul. They discuss... woodburning kits. But can they avoid the horrible torment of the Z-machines? Well, probably not. But I wanted to give you a brief feeling of hope. Enjoy.
Not Insane 5: Evil Evil
2007/05/02
After announcing an exit toll from the podcast, our intrepid researchers investigate evil in all its forms. They discuss abdominal wounds, pain-based meditation, background noise, evil twins, and the frightening intersection between Tron, Three's Company, and pornography. They also sing. Enjoy.
Not Insane 4: Zombies In Space
2007/04/25
In this episode, Masked Podcaster One embarks on a high-speed adventure, while Masked Podcaster Two stuns us with amazing insider Star Wars information-- or does he? Science fiction zombie musicals ensue. The usual round of Apple II and seventies pop culture trivia also occur.
Featuring "Re Your Brains" by Jonathan Coulton . (By the way, Episodes 1-3 are our "lost episodes".)

Join the incredible masked podcasters as they take you through an amazing journey through time, space, and reality! Through a process that is so intricate it is almost unintelligible, they weave mindblowing connections between apparently disconnected events, people, and places. Marvel as they reveal for the first time amazing conspiracies and explain subtle connections which elucidate all of reality. All this is carefully woven into a shimmering tapestry designed to keep the listener's grasp on reality as tenuous as possible. If that's not all, the masked podcasters reveal unheard of knowledge of 1970s and 80s tv shows, technology, science fact AND fiction, apple II computers, and pretty much everything else. They are even accurate on occasion!
