  1. Burgmuller: Op. 100 No. 10 - Tender Flower2014/12/27

I almost forgot about this one! The tenth in Burgmuller's set of 25 etudes for piano - I forgot I had recorded this one along with the previous nine and just came across it.

This etude (exercise) is intended to provide technique for repeated notes played by independant fingers. It's short and sweet.
  2. Clementi: Sonatina Op. 36, No. 62014/06/01

I've finally completed the last Sonatina in Clementi's Opus 36! I actually recorded this over a year ago and am just barely getting around to releasing it. I apologize for the long delay.

I hope that you will enjoy my recording of this work!

  6. Burgmuller: Op. 100 No. 8 - The Sweet Grace2013/02/09

Here is the next in the set of Burgmuller's Etudes - Op. 100 No. 8. It is titled "The Sweet Grace." I hope that you enjoy this recording!
  7. Burgmuller: Op. 100 No. 7 - By the Limpid Stream2012/10/01

Continuing the set of Burgmuller's Op. 100 - this recording is of No. 7, titled "By the limpid stream." I had to look up the meaning of "limpid," which means clear, or transparent.

Hearing the recording after the fact, I think I would have taken it a touch slower and muted the inner notes more.

I hope you enjoy the recording.
  8. Clementi: Sonatina Op. 36 No. 42012/09/20

Here is the next recording in the set of 6 sonatinas by Muzio Clementi - Op. 36 No. 4. Just two more to go! I hope that you enjoy the recording.

  11. Chopin: (Cantabile) Cantabile in B-flat major, B.842012/06/06

A beautiful, short piece by Chopin... his "Cantabile" in B-flat is a well-known work that provides a few subtle challenges wrapped in simple melody and carried by enchanting harmonies.

I hope that you enjoy my recording of this work - recorded at home on my 1941 Steinway AIII.
  12. Burgmuller: Op. 100 No. 5 - Innocence2012/05/05

The fifth in Burgmuller's set of 25 etudes for piano. This one is intended to provide practice for developing quick and nimble fingers in the right hand. A fun piece to play and highly recommended.

    Recorded on my Steinway AIII.

I hope that you enjoy it!
  15. Burgmuller: Op. 100 No. 2 - Arabaseque2012/03/18

The second etude in Burgmuller's Opus 100. This one is fairly well recognized. I think I found some better recording settings with this one than I used on the first etude. This was recorded on my Steinway AIII - a fun piece that I hope you enjoy!
  16. Burgmuller: (Artless Mind) Op. 100 No. 1 - La candeur2012/03/16

The first etude in a set of 25 by Burgmuller. I will be publishing all 25 eventually. This recording was made using a couple of new microphones - nothing fancy, but reduces the noise on my recordings. I hope you enjoy this set of etudes!
  17. Franck: Poco Allegretto2011/09/18

Here is a short piece by Cesar Franck that I came across in one of my sheet music sets. I love the melody and the way that Franck uses hanging tones to harmonize.

This recording is dedicated to a young listener, Sayuri, from Brazil. I hope that she will enjoy listening to this recording!
  18. Burgmuller: Harmony of the Angels Op. 100, No. 212011/07/04

A brief work that has some surprisingly difficult dynamics to it. This was recorded at my home on my Steinway A III. I hope that you enjoy this recording.
  19. Arnold: Song of the Shepherd Boy2011/06/15

A short work by Samuel Arnold (1740-1802). I discovered this piece in a music compliation book by Alfred. This was recorded at my home on my Steinway AIII. I hope that you enjoy it!
  20. Burgmuller: Ave Maria (Andante Religioso): Op. 100, No. 192011/05/10

My first recording of a work by Burgmuller. I discovered this work in Alfred's "Classical Music for the Church Service: Volume 2." I apologize in advance if people stumbled on this piece looking for one of the many other works titled, "Ave Maria." :-)

This recording was performed at my home on my Steinway A III. I hope that you enjoy it!
  21. Goedicke: (Elegy) Op. 46, No. 292011/04/19

Alexander Goedicke was a Russian composer and pianist who, despite having no formal training in composition, was quite gifted in composition. There is little information on this short work, but I find the melody to be enchanting. This recording was performed at my home, on my Steinway AIII. I hope that you enjoy this recording.
  22. Clementi: Sonatina Op. 36 No. 32011/03/13

This is the 3rd Sonatina in Clementi's Op. 36. I admit that I am not too pleased with how I played this piece and it is definitely one of those that I may have to re-record in the future. But for now, I hope that somebody out there benefits from this release. Enjoy!

  27. Bach: Invention No. 1 in C Major2010/05/12

Bach's Invention No. 1 in C Major is one of his most well-known works, as it typically makes it into the repertory of most piano students. As a result, I decided I had better make a recording of it. I hope you enjoy my sight-reading recording of Bach's Invention No. 1 in C Major!

This recording was made at my home on my studio upright.

  32. Bach: Prelude in B-flat Minor BWV 867 - The Well-Tempered Clavier, Vol 12009/09/27

This is one of those preludes that is great for those times when words just cannot express the longings of the heart. To me, this prelude is like a lamentation or a mourning - something heartfelt and sincere. It is also in a fairly uncommon key - that of B flat minor. I hope that you enjoy my recording of this work.

  35. Mozart: Sonata in F Major K. 300k (332) - III Allegro2009/08/16

This is the third and final movement to Mozart's Sonata in F Major (K 300k). This has been a fun sonata to record and got me hooked on learning a few other Mozart sonatas that I will hopefully be recording and releasing in the coming months. I hope you enjoy my recording of Mozart's Sontat in F, "Allegro" (3rd Movement).
  36. Mozart: Sonata in F Major K. 300k (332) - II Adagio2009/08/05

I hope you enjoy my recording of Mozart's F Major Sonata.

This is my first recording of a work by Isaac Albeniz. Albeniz was a Spanish composer born in 1860 who studied with several famous musicians, including the Great Franz Liszt. This work is from a larger Suite (Suite Espanola - Spanish Suite) which was composed in 1886.

I hope you enjoy my recording of Albeniz's Granada.
  43. Strauss, Jr.: (Chit-Chat Polka) Tritsch-Tratsch Polka Op. 2142009/04/07

This is my first recording of any kind of work of Strauss and is a famous polka. This music has been transcribed for various groups and instruments as it is a popular and fun-loving tune. The work was composed in 1858 and is a fun one to play. The recording was made at my home on my studio upright.

I hope you enjoy my recording of Bach's famous Minuet in G (sometimes spelled as Menuet in G - both are correct).

  74. Faure: (After a Dream) Apres Une Reve2007/12/01

This work is an extremely popular piece that has been transcribed for many instruments, including piano. My piano professor gave this piece to me as a Christmas gift during the first year of my studies.
  75. Schumann: Child Falling Asleep2007/12/01

This is another one of the several works included in Schumann's "Scenes from Childhood". I recorded this in my early college days, long before becoming a father. Now that I have three beautiful children I should probably record this again... now having such a new perspective to watching a child falling asleep.
  76. Liszt: (Un Sospiro) Concert Etude No. 3 in D flat Major2007/12/01
    Info (Show/Hide)
  77. Liszt: Consolation in E Major No. 12007/12/01

The six consolations by Franz Liszt are deeply emotional and inspiring pieces. Each one has so many different ways of being interpreted. Each performance should be unique and draw on the emotions of the performer and listeners.

This recording is from a live performance from January of 2003. It was recorded using a nine-foot concert grand piano.
  78. Schumann: Dedication2007/12/01

  79. Schumann: Dreaming2007/12/01

I will never forget watching Vladmir Horowitz's performance of this in his famous Moscow concert. Obviously I was not there in person, but I have watched my copy of that performance over and over again. Seeing that performance is what drew me to want to record this piece, which then led me to record several others among the "Scenes from Childhood" of which "Dreaming" is only one segment.
  80. Moszkowski: (Sparks Etude) Etude in B flat Major Op. 36 No. 62007/12/01

I have been told that this particular piece was a favorite "encore" piece of the great Vladmir Horowitz. My music teacher encouraged me to study this one and it did not take long at all to come to adore this quick-paced etude. Hopefully the "sparks" that give this piece it's common name are portrayed appropriately through this recording.
  81. Chopin: (Revolutionary Etude) Etude in C Minor Op. 10 No. 122007/12/01

This is one of Chopin's most popular Etudes. It is great for the left hand and provides some challenging reaches (for small to mid-sized hands). This was the piece I played to win first-place at a local talent competition back in my first year of college. I've always enjoyed playing this one and it seems to be a pretty good crowd-pleaser.
  82. Chopin: Etude in C Minor Op. 25 No. 122007/12/01

The first time I saw this performed was in a master-class at BYU. I thought it looked fun, and I've always been attracted to the "heavier" sounding music. This one actually has some very fun chord progressions in it that didn't stand out to me until I had been through several hours of practicing. Maybe the more astute listeners will pick up on those much more quickly than I did.
  83. Moszkowski: Etude in D Minor Op. 72 No. 92007/12/01

This etude is great for strengthening the technique of octaves for both hands. It is quite simple in form but provides a fun and unique method for practicing octave scales and runs.
  84. Chopin: (Black Keys Etude) Etude in G flat Major Op. 10 No. 52007/12/01

  85. Chopin: Etude Op 25. No. 12007/12/01
  86. Schumann: Foreign Lands and People - from Kinderszenen2007/12/01

This is from the "Scenes from Childhood" set of works that Schumann composed. This is one that I always enjoyed playing and experimenting with the pedalling.
  87. Schubert: Impromptu No. 4 in A flat Major2007/12/01
  88. Bach: Invention No. 8 in F Major2007/12/01

This was the first Bach piece that I ever memorized. I shouldn't admit this, but it actually took me a couple of weeks to commit to memory (sad, but true). The encouraging thing is that memorization definitely comes easier the more you do it :)
  89. Bach: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring2007/12/01

This piece was originally part of a larger work but was transcribed to piano and given the title "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." It is often played for weddings and other significant events.

This recording was made on a studio upright piano.
  90. Liszt: (Liebestraume - Dream of Love - Love Dreams) Nocturne in A flat Major No. 32007/12/01

  91. Beethoven: (Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement) Op. 27, No. 2 Adagio Sostenuto2007/12/01

An all-time favorite of so many people... including my father. I recorded this in a music room while at college as a Father's day gift for my dad. This is one of his favorite works. Please note that this recording only includes the famous 1st movement.
  92. Bach: Partita No. 1 in B flat Major - Praeludium2007/12/01

All of Bach's partitas are wonderful. I actually studied the entire 1st partita (of which this recording is only a portion), but never committed the entire work to memory. One of these days I'll pick it back up again and finish recording the entire piece.
  93. Chopin: (Military Polonaise) Polonaise in A Major Op. 40 No. 12007/12/01

  95. Chopin: Prelude in B Minor Op. 28 No. 62007/12/01
  96. Bach: (Ave Maria) Prelude in C Major2007/12/01

I play this one much more slowly than most do... I guess I just like it that way. This piece has been arranged, re-arranged, and arranged again for many instruments and combinations of instruments. It is definitely a "classic" and is often heard at weddings and other significant events.
  97. Chopin: Prelude in C Minor Op. 28 No. 202007/12/01

    Info (Show/Hide)
  101. Bach: Prelude No. 8 in E flat Minor2007/12/01

This recording was performed on a studio upright piano and thus does not deliver the greatest sound quality but gives the listener an idea of one interpretation of this piece. Many artists perform this selection at a faster tempo than is heard here but the I feel as though this is an appropriate tempo for the mood that I am attempting to convey.
  102. Liszt: Transcendental Etude No. 12007/12/01

This is the first in the set of 12 Transcendental Etudes. The set of Etudes is wonderful and this piece provides a great "prelude" into the rest of the series.
  103. Liszt: (Evening Harmonies) Transcendental Etude No. 112007/12/01
