this September 30th, James Dean died at 24. Raised in the small-town
of Fairmount, Indiana, before exploring NYC and Hollywood as an
actor, his grave in Fairmount has become a destination for
pilgriming fans from all over the world. Every September to
commemorate his life/death the followers gather for a weekend and
the numbers have grown exponentially over the years. These fans

(an unsuicide note)
My Dear One,
The Angels' wings are
beating again like when I was born into a Different World that
changed into This Future. Can you hear Them gathering around us?
Protecting us. Warning us. Leading us into a Tomorrow that never
knows. It is Not Dying. It is Shining. It is Being. It is Knowing.
It is Believing. Playing the game of Existence to the End of the
Beginning.

- MICKEY RAT IS DEAD!2007/03/15
The battle cry of Metal Machine
Music resonates across the land. Posters of Mickey Rat cover the
walls of buildings. He is the ‘Mao’ Rat – his ears are tied close
to his head to give him the look of a prophet. But he is a prophet
of doom to a band of rebels who scrawl “Mickey Rat is Dead” over the
posters claiming “Long Live Mickey Rat.”

- The art of making soundtracks...2005/10/18
I feel like Rich and I discovered something when we started this project. That is that it is possible to be totally inspired by music and lyrics telling you a story. I know this sounds obvious but I'll try to describe what I mean that is perhaps not so obvious. The very first night I heard one of these was in 1999 when Rich had just given me MEMORY MOTEL. He had prefaced the soundtrack
- Learning about music2005/10/18
I'm currently subscribed to Napster, Rhapsody and Pandora.
When I first heard about Pandora I got really excited because there have been so many times I was listening to a song, like, for example, Going To A Go-Go or Tears of a Clown by Smokey Robinson and I would be focusing on the drums or tamborine and so want to hear more songs that had the exact same quality. I thought Pandora would offer

Our partner in crime, Justin Sewell put up a site for his film LiningUpTV which comes out on DVD soon! Check out the trailers:

For the release of Episode I in 1999, Star Wars fans expressed their fandom the craziest way possible: A 6-week Line Up in front of several movie theaters across the US. The concept spread, with more and more "line ups" organized around the globe.

So I'm working on a new soundtrack that I'm calling "The Good, The Bad and The Wicked". It's an updated version of THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE UGLY.
While TGBU was set against the Civil War, this story is set against the new civil war between the red states and blue states. In the background of the story is a GW-like character who is waging this ammoralisitc war against American society.

Totally random - nothing to do with STF, but I noticed this and wanted to share the observation: It's kinda like they were separated at birth....
- new soundtrack from last year2005/09/27
LOST IN THE NOIZE is a soundtrack post that I created last year but just now published because Rich wanted to put this up after we had established the site and after people had a chance to understand the concept.
I think this is one of the best Rich has done. He originally created it in 1999 and I've been listening to it for 6 years now.
Peace,
James

with music (Deniro as “Frank”) that brings him to one of the most

- Updated: MICKEY RAT IS DEAD!2005/09/22
I updated the story for MICKEY RAT IS DEAD! This is the original story that Rich wrote 5 years ago when we first started this project. When we uploaded this soundtrack we thought we had actually lost this original version which is why the story was so short compared to the others. But it was just misplaced!
Rich found it last week when he was looking for something else and I retyped it today.
- New Soundtrack2005/09/01
I felt I had to rush to get this soundtrack up. I've had a little downtime and needed to take the window of opportunity to assemble this soundtrack.
Rich's (true) story is about the night he and his friends took the new drug that was to become "Ecstacy". This was 1979 and Disco was in full swing in NYC.
You can consider this a "period" film, kinda the same why AMERICAN GRAFFITI was a period

The morning of Dec 31, 1979.Miss Jones, Rolly, The
Lady & Michelangelo are getting their winter coats from the weary
checkroom girl of the huge dark empty STUDIO. They are in their 20's as
is almost everyone back then - It is 9 AM outside while inside STUDIO it
is still night. A single strobe light flashes on the dance floor,
illuminating the busboys
- New soundtrack (finally!)2005/08/11
It's been a long time since the last soundtrack I know. Both Rich and I have been super busy. My wife and I had our second baby, so between family and work I have had no free time and it takes about 10 to 12 hours of work to produce each soundtrack.
But! - I just uploaded Richard's new soundtrack ROLLING STONES LICK IRAQ. It is the sequel to BLOGIRAQ NOW and it follows the main character

- Been Busy2005/07/18
Richard and I have been super busy at our day jobs. We have another soundtrack on deck though called "The Night They Invented Ecstacy".
It is inspired by the song The Night They Invented Champagne - from the 1958 movie Gigi with words by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe, (sung and danced by Leslie Caron dubbed by Betty Wand, Hermione Gingold and Louis Jourdan).
