I missed going to mass last Sunday because I was too sick to go to church and I slept through TV mass for the same reason. But I won’t miss a sermon again because there’s this priest who podcasts his sermon, reflections, and other thoughts on his website.

I thought it was a good idea to make a podcast promo . Besides, I have received quite a few requests for it from fellow podcasters. What I have made is a one-minute presentation of what my podcast series is all about. It did not take me long to write the copy, but choosing the appropriate audio tracks did. Yet I truly had fun doing it. If you are a podcaster, you are free to use this plug in your podcast.

Mylene is only 29 years old but she already went through three surgical operations. First, for a kidney transplant when she was only 24. Second, to remove a lump in her breast. And just recently, to replace her damaged hip. At first she was very bitter and even blamed God. But now she feels bubbly and, as a nurse in a British hospital, makes it a point to bring hope and inspiration to her patients.

His name is Lawrence Stephens. He is one of the only two lay persons (read: non-ordained) in the world who have been appointed as General Secretary of a Bishops' Conference. I interviewed Lawrence about his experiences as General Secretary of the Bishops' Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. We also talked about the special role of the laity in the church.

In this podcast I converse with Fr. Raymond Dossman, a French missionary of the Sacred Heart (MSC). He is a saintmaker. We talk about the process of beatification. Who can be beatified? What does it take to be beatified and eventually canonized as saint. This is in view of the recent announcement that the process to beatify Pope John Paul II has begun. And after my conversation with the saintmaker I will play a song by Josh Martin, a Christian rock singer.

Why “Cuying”?
My highschool buddies used to fondly call me by that name. I found the name unique in the blogosphere so I went for it. I did not want my header title to be descriptive. I wanted to use a word that did not yet exist in any dictionary. And "Cuying" just sounded right.
