March 24, 1932: A radio variety show hosted in a moving train by Belle Baker, the first of such heard over radio. This program came from a Baltimore and Ohio train which made its rounds of the New York area and was aired over WABC, New York City.Belle Baker was actress, singer who made performance on stage, in Vaudeville, in motion pictures and on television. She was featuring "Atlantic City" 1944, "Charring Cross Road" 1935, and "Song Of Love" 1929. The most precious moment in Baker's career was when she made broadcast from moving train. The Radio Show is from 9/6/1949. The King's Men quartet was comprised of Ken Darby, arranger & bass; Rad Robinson baritone; Jon Dodson, lead tenor; Bud Linn, top tenor. Formed in Hollywood in 1929, they took their name from a radio sponsor named King. Their first engagement was as a singing foursome in the Paramount film "Sweetie." This led to other films and radio contracts. When the Boswell Sisters left Los Angeles station KFWB in 1932, the King's Men replaced them for two years. For fifteen years the King's Men were regulars on the "Fibber McGee and Molly" broadcasts.

This Johnny Mercer's Music Shop is from 8/2/1944. On the radio he sang with Benny Goodman and had his own shows, including "Johnny Mercer's Music Shop." Greatly admired in the music industry both personally and for his intelligent, optimistic lyrics, he wrote or co-wrote over 1,100 songs, including "Blues in the Night," "That Old Black Magic," "One For My Baby, "Come Rain or Come Shine" (all with Harold Arlen); "Lazy Bones" and "Skylark" with Hoagy Carmichael; "I'm a Old Cowhand," "I Remember You," "P.S. I Love You," "Jeepers Creepers," "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby," "When a Woman Loves a Man," "Too Marvelous for Words," and "Fools Rush In."
