Sam Blumenfeld was the single most educated man on the subject of the takeover of a formerly excellent private US education system by a statist, Prussian-styled, progressive system. He championed phonetic reading, and uncovered the disastrous effects and pernicious motives behind the "look-say"/"sight-word" method of reading pushed by govt schools. Sam also researched and wrote a book about the evidence supporting the thesis that the plays attributed to William Shakespeare were actually written by Christopher Marlowe, who did NOT die outside a pub in England, but lived out his life on Corsica, as a paid employee of the Queen. Fascinating, evidence-backed publications, speeches, and conversations. Sam also understood free market economics, and wrote numerous articles on a wide range of topics. He was a man of peace and kindness, and he was a hero for thousands of kids whose reading skills improved thanks to his work in promotion of phonics! Rest in peace, good man! Interesting combination there. From that point, we discuss the claims made by a politician named Elizabeth Warren (Senate from Mass) that things like the so-called "Glass-Steagall" kept the banking industry stable for decades, and that the lifting of this unconstitutional and immoral law somehow brought about the 2008 bank failures in the US.

Yeah, that's right! The last part of our title indicates something we've already mentioned many times, but it seems to take Washington a long time to see the truth. So what happened when a DC panel recently had to admit that the NSA meta-data program has not stopped any terrorist attacks? You got it. They demanded MORE power!

We cover that, and the stunning bias of CNN news in covering Larry Klayman's victory (in district court) against the NSA spying program. Gardner Goldsmith dissects this amazingly unfair and hypocritical network coverage, which isn't even coverage, but propaganda to slam Mr. Klayman. Klayman, the man who founded Judicial Watch, is likely a paleo-conservative with libertarian leanings. He has brought suit against the Clinton Admin (for many things, including their closed-door sessions on health insurance regulation, which forced the Clintons to pay, but got little attention in the pop media), against the Bushies for deceiving people about Iraq prior to the non-War, and other worthy issues. While his positions on things like immigration and other issues (you'll hear a few of them in the segment) might not fit with most members of the Liberty Conspiracy, we think his suit against the NSA is worth discussing, and the way CNN treated him in order to turn attention away from the actual ISSUE is reprehensible. Welcome back to the Conspiracy! We've got a few pressing issues to discuss, so let's lay them out. First, as some folks know, we recently discovered that the LC website has been banned in China. Interesting. The podcasts are still making it into the country.

After we give the details on that, we delve into the claims of US politicians like John Kerry and Barack Obama re Syria, and then reveal that they have not presented any facts to support their claims. As of this writing, Obama has stepped down from taking unilateral executive branch action (which would be unconstitutional), but is saying he will wait for Congressional "permission to use military force", which is also unconstitutional. The only powers granted the Congress to get the President to lead troops are 1) a Declaration of War (capitalize the W), and 2) the issuance of Letters of Marque and Reprisal (to let him hire mercenaries). That's it. War has certain rules. Which is why the Constitution specifies that term.

Next, we take a look at the higher costs for health insurance in the US since 2009, something that runs contrary to what the President claimed would happen, but follows all the laws of markets when politicians place regulatory burdens on them that force them to offer certain services or tell them how to offer them. Gard explains!

During the Independence Day holiday that many people were taking, President Obama surreptitiously signed an Executive Order claiming the power to control and shut down any form of "broadcasting". It is not only unconstitutional as an invasion on telecommunications via the unconstitutional FCC, it also does not just specify just electronic or radio telecommunications (bad as that would be). It speaks to "broadcasting", which could cover someone speaking through a bullhorn to a large audience. With an appreciation for the people in the city who died, suffered, who survived, we who cherish liberty look at the murderous attack on the attendees at the Boston Marathon.

Gardner Goldsmith is joined by Furb, founder of the Freedom Book Club. They look at something that has been mentioned at the Liberty Conspiracy website, which we will cut and paste here:

Homeland Security has not stopped one terrorist event. And after holding off on any political analysis, I started to think about the vulnerability one feels in a public place like Boston, an event like that... And the literal impossibility of true security that even the most dedicated police officers and politicians can try to provide. That area near the finish line is one of the most policed areas in any sporting/live/public event in the world. Yet this happened. It makes me consider the question framed thus: One might think about the percentage of cops per thousands on that street. At what level of officers/people does one think that there would have been a different outcome? I say that with no rancor towards anyone's beliefs, but just as a matter of reality. If killers wanted to kill, even a thousand more cops couldn't have stopped it. You can construct bicycles with pipe bombs in their frames and park them places. You can infiltrate the piping of the stands and tents and replace sections with pipes loaded with explosives. you can detonate bombs planted high up, loaded with metals to cause terrible damage. And all this brings me back to one insight, which is that there are (most often) reasons for terrorist acts. What are they? I won't sound "bleeding heart" when I say that, as a mathematical construct, if one cannot really stop terrorists who are hell bend on killing, then can one try to reduce the likelihood that people will be inspired to kill? Many killers don't have reasons inspired by things we can pinpoint as triggers, but many do. If this turns out to be a case of political terrorism, and we know it's impossible (or close to it) for the political machine to be big enough to stop this, then what does one do to try to reduce the likelihood of people wanting to kill for political reasons, such as disliking what the US does in the Middle East, etc?

When the US Supreme Court issued its decision in the Heller case (Dick Heller was a DC resident who sued over the District's restrictions on the 2nd Amendment) many so-called "conservatives" and "small government libertarians" and "Constitutionalists" cheered.

We did not. In his conclusion to the majority opinion Antonin Scalia did something very bad to the English language and to the definition of the word "right".

In this program, we offer you the third in our series of shows about the right to keep and bear arms, and those who set out to attack peaceful people and curtail that right. This time we get to look at the double-standard of pop media figures who strive for the elimination of the Second Amendment (and won't bother to try to amend the Constitution to do it), and we talk about how Wayne laPierre, of the NRA, and his sad but expected collapse on the right to keep and bear arms, and we'll note that there is something wrong with a judicial system that will release criminals into the public but still not trust them with firearms. The Second Amendment doesn't say that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, unless you're a felon who has done his time. If the state doesn't think you're safe enough to be in public with a firearm (and if you're inclined to do more crimes when you get out, you will likely get a firearm regardless of the law), then why is the state releasing you? You're clearly not safe to be in public anyway.

Anyone notice that politicians seem to be more and more confident that they can get away with double-speak and hypocrisy? Just two weeks ago, the US government killed a US citizen they accused of "terrorism", killed without trial or a presentation of the evidence against him. Then, a fortnight later, the US government proudly announces that its agents have busted a plot to ASSASSINATE an Arab ambassador. While the Arab ambassador is not seen as a criminal in the eyes of the US politicians, the Iranians claim that Saudi Arabia has been guilty of assisting the US government in its campaign of killings of innocent Muslims in the Middle East. So on the one hand, the US claims it is illegal and bad to try to assassinate a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad, and on the other, the US officials claim that it is a noble thing to kill a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad -- but in the latter case, it is the US government that's doing the killing, so it is alright, we're told.

Strange days.

We cover it, and ask why people put their faith in this corrupt institution called the state. We also talk about the UK government destroying property rights of the Irish Travellers at Dale Farm. This is an update we didn't want to provide, but must.

In part one of this two-part series, we made the world a better place by revealing the fallacies inherent in "economist" Paul Krugman's belief that an alien invasion, like he believes WWII did, could pull the US economy out of a 'down-time'. We explained that wars don't better people's standards of living, and they redirect usable capital, human and other natural resources into areas that aren't helpful to people's lives (please refer to that audio for the specific reasons as to why it is impossible to calculate value under a government paradigm, and therefore impossible to calculate whether ANY gubment spending is valuable -- no one is allowed to show his preference freely to determine whether he valued it or not, because his money is taken by politicians -- even to fight WWII.)

In this show, we go further, into the second part of Krugman's argument, wherein he might argue that we don't understand. He is not just advocating a redirection of money from taxpayers to busy work, building things to combat aliens, he is talking about a FISCAL STIMULUS, wherein the Fed or the Treasury creates money that pumps up demand! "Ahh," he might say. "I have you now, Skywalker! No one has to lose out on one thing in favor of what politicians want made, because there will be enough money to buy the other thing in the first place!" See, he wants the gubment or the Federal Reserve (given by Congress the monopoly on printing unconstitutional money) to pump the economy with Dollars, and he believes this will let people be employed with no disastrous consequences.

WRONG.

We explain, and show how the Federal Reserve is falsely claiming it made profits off of its bailouts. A great show!
