[TRANCE] As my record collection began to grow, I moved away from some of the simpler breakbeat mixes to trance, which is much harder due to the synths (opposing synths can be very cringe worthy) and 4/4 beat pattern, which means the records need to be synced up perfectly (or as best possible) to keep the trance from dissolving in your mind. This is my first production style trance mix, and as always, I do my very best to keep the songs in key, but limited record selections can sometimes be difficult to work around. Enjoy!

[Funky Breaks] For this mix, we're going in the waaay back time machine to bring to you the very first DJ Eclypse CD ever recorded. So this is where it all began, with just a handful of mismatched records that barely filled up half a record crate, and somehow with just around 6 months of trying out my skills as a DJ, I was able to piece together a full length mix (albeit a tad shorter than my current mixes since CD's at that time only had a 74 min max length). The mix was recorded with a Rane Mojo mixer and 2 Technics 1200 turntables (damn those things were expensive). The cover art is a scanned copy of the actual CD cover, and at the time, I didn't list the tracks on the back, so just know that instead of digging through the thousands of records that I currently own to try and get the songs for you, just know that it is mostly breaks from the era of DJ Icey (mid to late nineties), with a touch of progressive trance, and Goa (currently known as Psy-Trance). This mix does feature two things that you will never hear from me in any other production mix, the first is a part where I actually scratch a record to help continuity into the next track, and the second is a song that has a vulgar word which is repeated throughout the track. So, without further ado, I bring to you "Funky Break Session"!

[Trance/Progressive] Nightfall, a mix just a bit longer than an hour, is a collection of gentle/lighter tracks, with just a hint of some darker songs towards the end of the set. It's a great way to wind down the evening with a set that doesn't beat you up. One unique feature of the set is the use of different remixes of the same track "Something Between Us".

[Trance/Progressive] Designed back in 2012, Light the Way was a mix I put together that simply had to end with one of my favorite tracks of that time, which was Tales from the South (Jonas Steur's Revision Flow) by Esteura. Never an easy task to place a song before the mix is designed, however, I feel like everything worked out really well. [EPIC/MELODIC TRANCE] While I was working on my last epic set Peak XV, I managed to piece together a couple of side projects. This particular one, named Desert Souls, was the first one to be completed. [PROGRESSIVE TRANCE] After many months of design work, it became apparent that Departure was going to be one of the most solidly structured sets that I have done in this particular genre. Incorporating female vocal tracks all throughout the set really made this mix come alive, and set it apart from previously released material (hence the name "Departure"). As in all of my work, I cannot stress enough how important it is to me to keep the flow of music progressing accurately as the tracks blend and transfer into the next song. Departure brings all of this together in a neatly wrapped package of trance and progressive music that sounds more like one complete dream, instead of many separate ones.

This obviously moves the Psy music into an entirely different sound, and with a linear build in BPM as the mix progresses, the intense (some might say it's borderline insanity) and agressive nature of this set becomes clear. BTW, it helps to have a MONSTER sound system to acheive the full effect of this mix. Have at it!

[PROGRESSIVE-PSY] On the fence about Psy-Trance? No worries, I'm not a fan of getting too crazy with my tunes either, and with the abundant selections of Psy available, it's very easy to do. This is a Psy set that I capped at around 135 BPM's, and will contain cutting edge sounds that in some regard belong more to the Progressive Trance family. [PROGRESSIVE BREAKS] It's been 10 long years since I've worked with Progressive Breaks. In fact, it was June of 2000 when I opened for "The Light" (see: Party Rewind - Live @ The Masquerade) during our summer party series with Outerlimits. In this set you'll find mostly new tracks from 2010, all with incredible production quality (props to the artists who have such great talent) that entails the best in atmosheric sounds, orchestration, and rhythm structure. One of my favorite parts of the set, about 50 minutes into the mix, is a slow breakdown track by Faskil that uses a clip from the new Battlestar Galactica series.
