Episode 041 - ReThinking The End (Pt1)
2010/06/01
Info (Show/Hide)
Well here it is (after a few tech issues). The final episode of LOST, and what an episode!
This week Elton & Scott rethink 'The End'. Why are some people feeling let down? was it a great ending? what did we expect and how will this open our eyes to older episodes, not forgetting the whole of season 6?
This won't be the last time we evaluate 'The End', there's far too much to go over so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a follow up show very soon.

Episode 040 - ReThinking What They Died For
2010/05/21
Info (Show/Hide)
This week the guys rethink "What They Died For" and make some predictions about the series finale. Scott questions the plot significance (not entertainment value!) of the
Dharma season and other seemingly important-at-the-time mysteries, while Elton wonders if we have to see Juliet and Sawyer together in a coffee shop and if we should even want to. Who will be left on the island when it's all over? Join us as we discuss all this and more.
Enjoy the podcast and enjoy the final episode of LOST. We'll be back after the finale and for many weeks thereafter.

Episode 039 - ReThinking Across the Sea
2010/05/15
Info (Show/Hide)
Some people loved "Across the Sea", some hated it, some are in between. Whatever your stance is, you're sure to enjoy Scott and Elton's rethinking of the episode.
This week the guys present a reaction to the episode and a wondering of what it all may mean from this point forward. In this show you'll hear Scott look back for seeds of what was revealed in this episode, Elton wonder if "Mother" is a "Mother Nature" figure, and much more.
References are made to this article ( http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/exclusive-interview-lost-producers-damon-lindelof-and-carlton-cuse-talk-across-the-sea# ) which contains no spoilers but does declare that two specific questions will NOT be answered in the shows final 3.5 hours.
Enjoy the podcast and enjoy the final episodes of LOST. We'll be back before the finale if we can make it work out, but if not we'll be here right after.
We hope to make it to the end spoiler-free. Please keep that in mind when tweeting, emailing, or posting on our site.

Episode 038 - ReThinking The Candidate
2010/05/10
Info (Show/Hide)
Join Scott and Elton as they look back at and rethink the latest episode of LOST -The Candidate.
With many of their original theories no longer applicable after last week's episode, the guys start looking back for clues they may have missed in earlier episodes and wonder what other "cons" might in play. Why was so much time spent on the Kwons? Will Ben be a pivotal player inthe final 4.5 hours? Who planted the explosives on the plane? Will Miles survive to the finale? Could a reveal about Anthony Cooper's past be the push Locke needs to let go? What did Widmore mean when he said that if John Locke wasn't on the island the wrong side will win?
Scott and Elton discuss these topics and much more in this Spoiler-Free (as they all are) episode.
We hope to make it through the rest of Season 6 spoiler-free. Please keep that in mind when tweeting, emailing, or posting on this site.

Episode 009 - The Dead Part 3
2009/08/28
Info (Show/Hide)
Scott and Elton return to continue their study of characters who have died (or so we think) on LOST. Part 3, includes a look at the lives, death scenes, and significance of Christian Shepherd, Anthony Cooper, Nikki, Paulo, Goodwin, Nathan, and more. You do know who Nathan is, don't you?
Scott also reads from a 2006 Buddy TV post which analyzes the Season 2 DVD release party and suggests it may be a sign that ABC is losing faith in LOST . (Beware of clicking the link, the margins of the site may have links and headlines for more current articles that are Season 6 Spoilers)
We plan to spend one more show looking at some major deaths in LOST's first 5 seasons for now, and then we'll be spending time on other topics. If you have a suggestion of where to turn our 20/20 hindsight or if you know of old analysis you'd like to see us revisit - please let us know.

Episode 008 - Where were you March 12, 2009?
2009/08/20
Info (Show/Hide)
At the moment, both Elton and Scott are on family vacations (aka "holidays"). But don't worry, we have a special episode to share with you in our absence.
As many of you know, Scott and Elton produce another podcast, called "An Apotheosis of a Bombast." During the one week break/hiatus in the middle of Season 5, the guys devoted an entire episode that podcast to a spoiler-free discussion of LOST. It was released on the Bombast feed on March 12, 2009, (Episode 008 of that podcast, ironically) and we are pleased to be able to share it with you here, in it's entirety.
So enjoy a break from our look at "The Dead" and listen in as Elton and Scott discuss how they each got into the show, their favorite characters, make their own (crazy? in hindsight, maybe they were) predictions about how Season 5 might end, and more.
This episode was then, and is still, a Season 6 Spoiler-Free podcast. So listen without worry.
We hope you enjoy this glimpse into the origins of ReThinking LOST and that you find the show as a whole to be a good listen. If you like it, please do check out An Apotheosis of a Bombast on ITunes or through podbean (link below).
We'll be back in plenty of time to bring you Episode 9 and more talk of the dead characters on LOST for next Thursday.

This week Scott and Elton continue to pick through the IMDB cast page for LOST and rethink the lives, deaths, and significance of the characters who have "passed on." In Part 2, we look at Carl, Alex, Danielle Rousseau, Michael, and many others.
As always, we are striving to present you a Season 6 Spoiler-free podcast. So listen without worry.
There are still many dead people to talk about (wow, that sounds cold, doesn't it?), but we will be going off on a 1 episode tangent in next week's episode. We are sure you will enjoy that episode, and don't worry - we will return to our study of the dead characters in LOST with Episode 9.

Episode 006 - The Dead Part 1
2009/08/06
Info (Show/Hide)
This week Scott and Elton begin a (Season 6 Spoiler Free!) rethinking of characters who have died on LOST.
In the first of a multiple part study, we use the IMDB cast page for LOST and look at who's died, how they died, and how significant their characters were. There's no particular order, we just take them as we find them. Part 1 has us looking at the pilot of 815 (Greg Grunberg again!), the marshall, Sun's love interest, and Montand (among others).
We also take a moment to respond to an audio comment from Anthony (aka @oriSTUDFARM), co-host of the Scutter Cast . If you're a fan of Red Dwarf - Scutter Cast is where you should be.
As always, we are striving to present you a Season 6 Spoiler-free podcast. We do not refer to or make use of anything from Comic-con.

In this episode we talk about questions the posed about and around the pilot episode at the Ain't it Cool News website by their correspondant, "Hercules." (be careful, accessing the main AICN site, at www.aintitcool.com, may lead to Season 6 spoilers, but the links provided below are SPOILER-FREE)
Lost 1.1 FAQ from 24th July 2004
Interview with Damon Lindelof from 21st August 2004 (did he really just say something else would be crashing on the island?)
We also look back at Entertainment Weekly's first impressions of the main characters from 5th October 2004: some good, some not so good.
Thank you once again to everyone for your great feedback, but please don't stop.
