This isn't an easy topic, because there are a lot of variables to account for, and some people can be very good at hiding who they really are.
It's like finding a spouse, you can't tell from just a few dates.
Many people that seem like they would make a good group member, actually turn out not to be compatible with you and your group.
One thing to keep in mind, is what happens when someone stops being a group member.

As a prepper, one of the biggest challenges we face is getting notified of major events that occur. Because we want to stay ahead of the curve when it comes time to do things like bug out or enact other parts of our preparedness plan, getting timely information is critical.

On this podcast episode, I discuss some of the options for non-firearm defensive weapons. I also clearly make the point (perhaps droning on a tad too much about it) that using anything other than a firearm is really a substandard defensive tactic. However, there are those times or situations where having a firearm is either impractical or unrealistic, and so, we look at some of the options available.

I started talking about a question that was posed at the round table discussion, but we never got yo answer, and that was, "What would be the one item you would take with you, if you could only take one?" This brought me down the rabbit hole and I ended up talking about my first knife and why it's important to test your preps.
