The introduction to an LP record of audio surrounding the coverage of the assassination of President John F Kennedy. The album was a re-creation taken from actual recordings broadcast that four day period over WQMR radio in Washington DC. Many of the narratives were re-recorded and the music heard at the beginning of track one was taken from a needle drop transcription and not actually broadcast. For more details see....

Excerpt from one of the first broadcasts by Public Radio Station WAMU-FM. A series of live broadcasts from the 'Watergate Concert Barge' at the Watergate on the Potomac River, Washington DC. A summer series on Friday evenings in 1962, produced by WAMU-FM in cooperation with the USAir Force. Series was heard on public radio station network.

In the early 1960's television booth announcements were all transmitted live and announcers worked 8 hour shifts. WTTG-TV5 was Washington DC's independent station but carried early Dumont network programs. It was owned by Metropolitan Broadcasting (John W Kluge) and was sister station to WNEW-TV New York and KTLA-TV Los Angeles. Later MetroMedia became the corporate name. Today WTTG-TV is the FOX TV affiliate in Washington DC. Here is a live booth audio segment with movie close, break, promos, commercials and intro to next program c.1962. Early in the 1960's before Beautiful Music radio took off with 24 hour formats, WASH-FM in Washington DC pioneered the Beautiful Music genre with a daily morning program sandwiched into their basic classical music format. Ev Dillard (c1950's photo) was owner manager of WASH and The Commercial Radio Equipment Company. The station was part of the early Continental Radio Network and WQXR network. The promo spot was recorded by one of their early announcers, R A Campbell.
