Students and staff at Delany College, Granville, Sydney dedicated an entire week to celebrating the joys and importance of reading. "Delany Reads Week" was held from 28 February to 7 March, with competitions, lunchtime literary readings and a book sale. the week culminated with a library open day on tuesday 6 March, when the college hosted a speaker and advocate for reading, Geoffrey Lee.

It's a small world after all - Blogging for Learning
2006/10/23
Info (Show/Hide)
This podcast was prepared for the K12 Online conference 2006. It tells the story of how I discovered blogging, and how I found blogging to be a highly effective medium for fostering a professional learning community as well as a personal learning environment.
In the space of 6 months I have gone from no blog, and no ideas, to working with a whole school system strategy for integration of Web 2.0 and blogging as an official tool for dialgoue and communication.
This is the first time that I have used Garage Band, so creating this podcast has also been a new learning experience for me.

Good educators recognise the need to engage students in their personal learning - and Web 2.0 overcomes so many of the technology hurdles that technology itself created. Web 2.0 tools are creating a renaissance in our own time. These are my learning experiences.
