What to do if harassed for wearing a pro-life t-shirt
2010/04/28
Info (Show/Hide)
Feature: What to do if harassed for wearing your pro-life t-shirt
If you are a student at a public school, you have a right to wear a pro-life shirt to school, hand out literature before and after school and classes (not during) and state your opinion when appropriate. Our experience is that most young people who wear a pro-life shirt to school during National Pro-life T-shirt Week do not have any problems.
Occasionally a misguided school official may ask you to remove the shirt, turn it inside out, go home and change, put a shirt or sweater over the top of it, etc., etc. This may be a violation of your Constitutionally protected free-speech rights.
Erik, Jeff and Kortney discuss your rights and what to do if harassed by a public school administrator for wearing your pro-life t-shirt.

Conceived in Rape, Alive to Tell Her Story
2010/04/22
Info (Show/Hide)
Feature: Conceived In Rape, Alive To Share Her Story
We've all heard someone say: "I'm pro-life, well, except in cases of rape . . ." or "I'm pro-choice, especially in cases of rape!" Have you ever considered how really insulting it is to say to someone, "I think your mother should have been able to abort you"? It's like saying, "If I had my way, you'd be dead right now." And that is the reality with which Rebecca Kiessling lives every time someone says they are pro-life "except in cases of rape" because she absolutely would have been aborted if it had been legal in Michigan when she was a preborn child. Rebecca is a product of rape, an International Pro-Life Speaker and an Attorney, and she’s in the studio to share her story.
Featured Artist: X-Sinner
The First CD to come from X-Sinner in 1989, was called "Get It" and was released on super label A&M Records, but distributed through Word in the Christian Markets. It had 3 Christian Chart Toppers at number 1, and 5 singles in the top ten....it was also nominated for a Dove Award at GMA.
2006 was a release of pre-production tracks from their earlier recordings and finally in 2008 the band announced a greatest hits called Loud and Proud 2.0 but it wasn't until recently that we saw a new album from X-Sinner. It has been selling very well and the band has been constantly playing shows and festivals like Cornerstone and festivals in Sweden and Germany. Find out more about Rex Scott's project "X-Sinner" and their new CD "World Covered in Blood" online at www.myspace.com/xsinnernews.

Feature: Interview with Bobby Schindler, Disability Rights and Pro-Life Advocate
Erik, Jeff & Kortney interview Bobby Schindler, Disability Rights and Pro-Life Advocate, part of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation and co-host of America's Lifeline
In February of 1990 Bobby's sister, Terri Schiavo, suddenly collapsed and was left with a brain injury. Terri's estranged husband sought court permission to starve and dehydrate her to death, propelling Bobby into speaking in defense of his sister's life on numerous national television and radio programs.
Following Terri's awful death on March 31, 2005, Bobby gave up his teaching job and became a full-time pro-life and disability rights advocate. Since then, he has spoken extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally, telling the truth about Terri's story and challenging the public to educate themselves regarding the dangers of euthanasia. He's also been asked to testify before state legislatures concerning the protection of the medically vulnerable.
He and his family have authored the book A Life That Matters, about their decade long struggle to care for his sister Terri, and they started the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation. Bobby is also the co-host on America's Lifeline, a weekly radio program covering such topics as euthanasia, futile care and assisted suicide.

Feature: Pro-Life Christmas Shopping - What to Avoid this Christmas Shopping Season The Christmas shopping season is a time most Americans spend a significant amount of money on gifts as well as travel expenses to see family and friends. Why spend money on gifts and other items whose parent companies then use those profits to donate financially to Planned Parenthood, America's largest abortion chain?
On this episode host Erik Whittington, cohosts Jeff McLain and Kortney Blythe discuss some of these companies and the importance of shopping elsewhere.
Big thanks to Life Decisions International who investigates these companies and supplies you with this list in exchange for a small donation.

Since Showbread has erupted a few years ago, no one has simply been able to define their sound of music, energy and style. Showbread began describing themselves as “Raw Rock” since early in their career. When the first dissonant chord of the opening track “I’m Lost” rings out, it’s easy to assume Jensen is telling the truth, this is pure Raw Rock. The tracks are very honest, danceable and sassy. We have been around Showbread for sometime, since they played our Cornerstone Stage in 2004 at Cornerstone wearing their red pants and black shirts. News & Commentary:
Last week saw hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers nationwide take part in marches and vigils remembering the lives lost through abortion. The largest one - the annual March for Life - brought a massive crowd to Washington, D.C. only two days after 2 million individuals packed the city for the Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
San Francisco was host to another large march, as over 30,000 pro-life advocates took part in the fifth annual Walk for Life West Coast. The WFLWC crowd increases with each passing year, and the number of counter-protesters in the city known for its abortion advocacy has dwindled from 5,000 to 100. In fact, two of the three cities that have passed resolutions declaring themselves "pro-choice cities" are near San Francisco – Santa Cruz and Berkeley. The third, West Hollywood, is in Los Angeles.
We have a new president, and he has wasted no time in making sure that Planned Parenthood's wish list is fulfilled. He struck down the Mexico City Policy, which states that an organization must "agree as a condition of their receipt of federal funds" that they would "neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations." This means we are all supporting – via tax dollars – the killing of preborn children in other nations.
Congresswoman and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said something interesting about population control being cheaper in the end run...we dissect her comments.

News & Commentary
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has seen sharp downturn in donations, and recently was forced to make staff cuts. Approximately 30 people (20% of the staff) in their New York City headquarters were laid off. Much of the decrease comes as a results of the Bernie Madoff investment scam, because the Picower Foundation - a major donor to abortion advocacy groups - shut down in December because their financial assets were managed by Madoff.
A UK mother is making international news for her refusal to abort her conjoined twins. The 25 year old Lisa Chamberlain called her children a "gift from God" and told the London Telegraph that "Some might think my twins are strange, but to me they're just special..."
The vice president of Spain's ruling Socialist Worker's Party, Jose Blanco, was shown a late-term abortion on live TV during an interview on Intereconomia TV. After viewing the graphic footage, blanco appeared visibly disturbed and said "I am against abortion. Abortion is an exceptional situation," but then went on to defend it by claiming he just wanted to protect women and doctors. The abortion rate in Spain is extremely high, despite widespread contraception use and the government offering to pay for abortions; two things abortion advocates claim will reduce the rate. Some interesting statistics:
Abortion legalized in Spain in 1985
1995 - 49,000 abortions
2004 - 85,000 abortions
2007 - over 100,000 abortions
contraceptive use increased 60% since 1997
morning after pill introduced in 2000, and use has risen 67% since
A 22 year-old woman from San Diego is auctioning off her virginity. Bids reached well over $3 million, and the young woman hopes to use the money to pay for an advanced degree in family and marriage therapy. She claims she got the idea from her sister, who prosituted herself for three weeks to pay for college as well.
The Christian Defense Coalition had planned on chalking pro-life messages on the sidewalk in front of the White House on January 24th, but the Washington D.C. police put a damper on their plans. The police claimed it "...would constitute defacing public property in violation of D.C. Official Code." It should be noted that the city of Washington, D.C. has sponsored sidewalk chalk art displays in the past.

Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood (based in Albany, NY) has announced it will be closing one of its clinics in Latham, NY due to financial reasoning. This clinic performed medical abortions, and we congratulate the hard work of local pro-life activists who have been combating Planned Parenthood's influence in New York's Capital Region for years.
Two ambulance workers were arrested in the UK after they were accidentally recorded talking about how they didn't see a reason to revive adisabled 59-year-old heart attack victim. The man had dropped his phone after collapsing, and the medical response teammates were reportedly heard discussing how they planned to just say he died before they got to the scene.
Brian "Head" Welch, former guitarist for he band Korn, released a CD containing a strong pro-life message. Welch quit the band in 2003 after converting to Christianity, and has since moved on to a solo project. He's admitted to being OK with abortion years ago, and how he and his girlfriend almost aborted their child, but changed their mind last minute inside the abortion mill, giving their baby up for adoption. RFLer Keith Ashley covers this in depth here on the RFL blog.

News & Commentary
On this issue of the Rock for Life Podcast Ashley from RFL Delaware joins Erik and Phil to engage in some lively banter over Planned Parenthood's 55-page wish list to the Obama administration. On their end, the Obama team is holding small meetings all across the country to get input from ordinary citizens on health care concerns. Ashley and Phil report back on the meeting they attended, and as part of the efforts to defeat Planned Parenthood, we are encouraging as many of you as possible to attend one of these meetings in your area and voice your opposition to the Freedom of Choice Act and all of the PP agenda.
You can find out about the meetings by going to the following website and type in your zip code and search for local events. These events go by different names - "health care discussion group," health issues round table," etc. - and should be open to the public.
http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/search_simple?source=sidenav
Many of these meetings are being held in private homes. These meetings are NOT the time for demonstrations. They represent an opportunity for local pro-lifers, especially community leaders and medical professionals to have civilized discussions and influence what is fed back to the Obama team.
We would love to receive reports of the meetings you attend.
